Publication Abstract: We present a new approach motivated by the gauge/gravity correspondence and Veneziano duality to study the spin-dependent quark distributions in the nucleon. The polarized distributions are uniquely determined with no free parameters in terms of the unpolarized ones. The results are consistent with the existing experimental data and agree with the perturbative QCD predictions at large x. Particularly, we predict the sign change position, $x\sim0.8$, for the down quark polarized distribution, which will be tested very soon in upcoming experiments.
